The acoustic study result is the definition of necessary acoustic arrangements to ensure the achievement of optimal acoustic conditions, according to the demands and valid norms.

The definition of acoustic arrangements is the proposal and the selection of materials with required acoustic attributes (the sound absorption and diffusion of the material’s surface), specifying the needed size (amount) and position of these materials in the particular space installation.

The standard output is the technical report. According to the agreement with the client, we prepare the drawing documentation placing the proposed acoustic materials in the space.

To set the values of acoustic parameters, two methods are used:

  1. Computational method – based on statistical relations of room acoustics, where the reverberation time calculation is based on the assumption of an evenly distributed sound field.
    Advantages – specifies the needed amount of acoustic materials,
    Disadvantages – exact distribution of acoustic materials is based only on the estimate of a qualified acoustician.
  2. Simulation method – a 3D model of the space is created, acoustic simulations are performed using a simulation program. The simulation program computes the impulse response, which contains the acoustic characteristics of the space. In cases of uneven distribution of acoustic energy (e.g. bad speech intelligibility in some areas of the space) corrections are made to help attain acoustic constancy in all parts of the space.
    Advantages – determines the exact amount of necessary acoustic materials and specifies their optimal positioning, with the aim of attaining the desired reverberation time and great speech intelligibility. This method also serves as the basis for correct distribution of sound technology loudspeakers.
    Disadvantages – this variant is more demanding with respect to time and costs.

ACOUSTICS OF INTERIOR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Acoustic studies focus on noise reduction and soundproofing in production facilities, large-area offices, call centers, various testing laboratories and anywhere that noise reduction is required (not only because of environmental regulations).

With help of a computerized 3D virtual model of the facility and its neighborhood, all of its noise sources are analyzed. The direct impact of all noise sources on the environment is computed. Thus, the actual noise situation is mapped by the computational methods and simulations.

Subsequently we perform simulations of the proposed soundproofing arrangements using noise barriers, acoustic screens, noise absorbers etc. Thanks to this simulation we are able to predict the effectiveness of the proposed noise elimination arrangements in the production facility area, as well as in the surrounding neighborhood.

SOUND DISTRIBUTION AND ELECTROACOUSTICS

These studies are intended for designing the electroacoustic sound distribution of theatres, concert and music halls, lecture and conference rooms, public gathering spaces (stations and checking halls, airport halls, shopping centers, swimming halls etc.).

The result of the study is the precise definition of the required emitting parameters of the loudspeaker system, as well as the specification of the optimal number and positioning of the loudspeakers. The study sets the vertical and horizontal angles for optimal positioning of the loudspeakers. Complete coverage of a given space by an electroacoustic signal is presented. This study is the basis for electroacoustic projects.
