“Noise from a grocery store can negatively affect the life quality in nearby dwelling. Therefore, our task was to assess the noise made by the shop and ensure that the residents of housing estate will not be disturbed by the operation.”

  • Logistics park operation impact on the nearest family houses and gardens was analysed
  • The assessment of the impact of noise from road traffic was also carried out for the year 2041, from which the operation of the nearby D4 highway and the intersection of the D1 and D4 highways is also considered

Residential complex Kamence – Kysucké Nové Mesto

  • Measurement and assessment of traffic noise on roads and parking lots in the vicinity of the planned construction of a residential complex
  • The acoustic model was created according to the technical documentation and a personal inspection of the territory
  • Reduction of perceived noise from traffic in apartments will be ensured by the design of proper insulation of facades and windows of individual dwelling
  • The first realized part of the project won the prestigious Slovak architectural award CEZAAR in the category Residential Building in 2021

“The construction of the D3 highway is planned near the residential complex. Therefore, we also assessed the impact from traffic for the year 2032, in which the impact of the highway and surrounding roads was considered.”

Nová Matadorka – residential area with facilities – Bratislava

  • In the upcoming years, the Nová Matadorka residential area will be built in the original production area of the Matador factory, the section Smaltovňa will be realized as a renovation of the original buildings
  • The first step was the measurement and assessment of traffic noise on roads, parking lots and the railway line near future apartment buildings, schools, kindergartens, sports grounds…
  • Subsequently, an acoustic model according to the technical documentation and a personal inspection of the area was created
  • The quality of life in the Nová Matadorka dwellings will be ensured thanks to the correct design implementation of the insulation of facades, windows, and the method of ventilation of bedrooms, living rooms…

Recording Studio – Epic Games

  • The “Audio room” studio will be used for listening, creating, mixing and recording sounds for computer games
  • It was necessary to ensure proper room acoustics – low reverberation time for this type of the studio
  • In addition, it was necessary to prevent the transfer of sound to the surrounding offices and at the same time from the corridor and offices to the studio
  • In this case, our work in cooperation with English acousticians was to design a feasible composition of walls and floor, special double doors and an atypical ventilation system, because there are no windows in the studio
  • The interior elements of the recording studio were adapted to functionality – absorption panels were placed on the ceiling and mineral wool covered with a sound-permeable material on the walls
“We transformed the project of the recording studio into a variant feasible on the Slovak construction market in cooperation with English acousticians.”

House of culture Hrubá Vrbka

  • Design and implementation of room acoustics during the renovation of the cultural center
  • Reverberation time measurements were made during the initial inspection
  • Room acoustics were designed according to the requirements of the Czech technical standard
  • Ceiling elements (resonators) between the lamps were designed specifically for the given space
  • The visual of the cultural center was supplemented with absorption elements that are not visible at first glance
  • Approval measurements confirmed the correctness of the design and the accuracy of the implementation

“The new space of the cultural center is suitable for municipal and community meetings, social evenings, gatherings, concerts and various other cultural events.”

Lecture hall with interpretation room

  • There is an interpretation room in the back of the hall, which has special requirements for room acoustics, a window and a door
  • At first glance, the wall covering has the same surface treatment, but it is created as a combination of solid wall panels, panels with cavities (resonators), openable panels with storage space and doors
  • The stop is made up modularly from an acoustic full soffit and a wooden soffit with a cavity for air-conditioning and electrical distribution
  • Wall and ceiling cladding is supplemented with line lighting
  • In the case of a presentation, two types of sun shades on all windows can be operated with an electric switch, which dims the light and will also improve the room acoustics of the hall
“The room was designed to be all-purpose for lectures, training, business and presentation events, along with an interpretation area at the back of the hall.”

Sokolský dům – Cinema Vyškov

  • Design for material treatment during the renovation of the cinema hall of the city’s cultural center
  • The requirements for the room acoustics of the cinema according to the Czech technical standard and the measurement of the reverberation time were determined and carried out during the initial inspection
  • Wooden chairs were replaced with cinema seats, the floor was replaced with parquet with a carpet, the wooden wall covering was replaced with a combination of soft absorption panels, hard reflective panels and wooden slats, the ceiling was replaced with acoustic cassettes
  • Approval measurements confirmed the correctness of the design, the accuracy of the implementation, which quality ensures the cinema’s competitiveness to large multiplexes
“Renovated cinema hall with Dolby Surround sound offers a cinematic experience for 251 spectators.”

Shopping center Nivy Bratislava – Marketplace

  • Design to improve the acoustic comfort of the marketplace and gastro establishments of the Nivy shopping center on the third above-ground floor
  • Acoustic model and simulations were performed for the entire floor
  • Since the individual gastro establishments will be open kiosks, it was necessary to design modifications to the ceiling in such a way that the intelligibility of speech was increased when ordering food and also during normal conversations
  • Perforated plasterboard walls and a ceiling combined with special slats and draft elements supplemented with absorbent material were designed
“You can check the improvement of the acoustic conditions with your own ears, just take the large escalator from the ground floor to the marketplace and concentrate on the noise around you.”

Pradiareň 1900 – innovative office of the year 2022

  • The space of the former spinning mill was functionally divided into an open office, relaxation areas and a maisonette with meeting rooms
  • White solids were lowered from the ceiling in the open space – baffles above the desks, which ensure that individual workers do not disturb each other during phone calls and conversations
  • Acoustic elements were applied to the walls and vaulted ceilings to improve speech intelligibility and reduce echoes in the meeting rooms
  • We carried out the measurement of room and building acoustics in the evening hours, when the space was not used by employees
  • The quality of both office and meeting spaces was assessed by the worldwide BREEAM Building Certification based on British standards
“Acoustic comfort improves the performance and concentration of employees at the workplace. The work environment does not create in them the need to go home as quickly as possible.”

Concert hall – Elementary art school of the St. Cecilia

  • The concert hall originally contained a large number of reflective surfaces, which disturbed the audience and interfered with listening to the performances
  • Reverberation time measurements were made during the initial inspection
  • Rooom acoustics were designed according to the requirements of the Slovak technical standard for speech delivery and musical performances
  • The simulations resulted in a recommendation to replace the ceiling cassettes and add special curtains
  • The new celling soffit is aesthetic and at the same time functional from the point of view of acoustics
“The new space will strengthen the experience of art exhibitions, children’s parties, performances of the school choir and music concerts.”
